With the sea crossing taking several days on the outward and return journeys, there will be a range of hand stitching workshops for you to join, reflecting the colours and sights we’ll experience during the cruise. All the workshops will be fully kitted so all you will need to bring is your own personal hand sewing kit. Along the way we’ll host some assorted evening entertainments as well of lots of fun and laughter.

A former Editor for (British) Patchwork & Quilting magazine, Judi (right) gives talks and teaches patchwork workshops around the UK and abroad. She has joined Japan Journeys on several cruises and their quilt tours to Japan.

Barbara (left) is a teacher, writer and designer with more than 35 years’ international experience, with hand stitching and especially traditional hand quilting a particular focus. She has written four books, of which, ‘The Essential Quilter’ and ‘Quilt It!’ are considered classics. She also has six fabric collections to her credit and has designed hundreds of quilting stencils.

Between them Barbara and Judi will provide a wide range of workshops over the cruise days, as they have very different styles, which is their strength, plus a lot of badinage, Chainey wisdom, and laughter.
