Day 2: Tokyo
Spend the day in Tokyo at leisure. Your options are unlimited in this
incredible city where the traditional and modern collide. Explore
Tokyo’s past in the bustling, traditional Asakusa district,
visit the world’s largest fish market at Tsukiji, shop in the
fashionable districts of Shibuya and Harajuku and sample some of
Japan’s delicious cuisine.

Tokyo Optional Tours
Tour A: Tokyo Grand Full Day Tour with lunch
Day 2 - £101
Enjoy a full day sightseeing by coach. Start the day with a panoramic view of Tokyo from the main observation platform of Tokyo Tower. See one of the finest examples of Japanese shrine architecture at Meiji Shrine and take a pleasant stroll through the beautiful East Garden of the Imperial Palace. After a Japanese style lunch you can see the contrast between old and new Japan at Hama-Rikyu Garden before taking a wonderful cruise down the Sumida River. Following the cruise you will have the chance to pick up some souvenirs or ‘omiyage’ (gifts) at Nakamise, a bustling shopping street that leads to Asakusa Kannon- one of the finest Buddhist Temples in Japan.

Morning Tour
Day 2 - £42
Enjoy a half day of sightseeing by coach in Tokyo. Your guide will show you the highlights of this vast metropolis, from the Imperial Palace and serene Meiji Shrine to the chic shopping district of Ginza.
Tour C: Mt Fuji & Hakone Full
Day Tour with lunch, returning by Bullet Train
Day 3 - £167
Take a fantastic guided excursion by coach to Mt Fuji and the beautiful resort of Hakone nestled in the foothills of this sacred mountain. Ride in a cable car for a superb view of the surrounding mountains and volcanic craters, and even board a pirate ship to cruise around Lake Ashi! A delicious lunch of yakitori (grilled chicken) is included. Return to Tokyo on Japan's world-famous Bullet Train.

Nikko & Kegon Waterfall Full Day Tour with lunch
Day 3 - £146
Take a trip north of Tokyo to the beautiful mountain city of Nikko. Start by visiting Nikko Toshogu shrine dedicated Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogun, and home to 5 National Treasures of Japan. You will also get the chance to see the famous carving of the three wise monkeys. Visit the scenic Lake Chuzenji, famed for its extraordinary depth before heading to the spectacular Kegon Waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls in Japan. Head back to Tokyo where you can choose to leave the tour at the lively Shinjuku or the shoppers’ paradise of Ginza.

TOKYO & KYOTO PACKAGE – 6 Days
Day 1: Arrival in Japan

first permanent capital and home to 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites,
including Todai-ji, the Temple of the Great Buddha. Alternatively
you may wish to join a tour. Stay one night in your comfortable 3*
hotel.

Day 5: Kyoto, Nara at leisure
Explore the beautiful city of Kyoto on your own. For temples we recommend
Kiyomizu-dera and Ginkaku-ji in the hills to the east of the city.
Nijo Castle is also well worth a visit, and make sure you allow yourself
plenty of time for the wonderful craft shops and delightful streets
of Gion, the old geisha quarter.
Board the Bullet Train this evening and return to Tokyo (1 night).

Day 6: Depart Japan
Transfer from your hotel to Narita International Airport (Tokyo).

Take a guided tour to Nara, whilst smaller than Kyoto is no less rich in attractions, with 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sights. You will begin the tour by visiting the outstanding Todai-ji temple, the largest wooden building in the world and home to the Great Buddha statue – Japan's biggest. Take a stroll through Nara Park where you will have the chance to feed the friendly deer that roam the park. The tour finishes with a visit to the peaceful Kasuga Shrine, one of the best Shinto Shrines in Japan.
Tour F: Kyoto
Full Day Tour with lunch
Day 5 - £109
Enjoy a day of sightseeing in Kyoto by coach. Your expert English-speaking guide will tell you all about the history and traditions which make this glorious city a spiritual home for the Japanese. The tour will visit Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji (The Golden Temple) and the Imperial Palace. After a buffet lunch you head to Heian Shrine built to commemorate the 1,100th anniversary of the founding of Kyoto, before visiting the impressive Sanjusangen-do Temple, home to 1,030 unique standing Buddhist statues. Your final stop on the tour will be one of the New 7 Wonders of the World finalists and UNESCO world heritage site Kiyomizu Temple. Perched precariously on a cliff top you will get to see a panoramic view of Kyoto city from the broad wooden veranda.

Day 5 - £53
Enjoy a half day of sightseeing in Kyoto by coach. Your expert

which make this glorious city a spiritual home for the Japanese. The

Handicraft Centre. In

at leisure before returning to Tokyo.
