A wonderful tour taking in Japan’s stunning gardens and other autumn colours. Visit historic Kyoto, with a wealth of exquisite gardens; the idyllic island of Miyajima; Korakuen, one of Japan's top three gardens; and the vibrant city of Tokyo.
Every Japanese temple and shrine has its own garden or is set in beautiful landscape. You’ll be able to enjoy the glorious colours at these gardens and en route whilst on tour.

- Guided tours of Kyoto, Tokyo and Nara
- Stay in a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn)
- Travel on Japan’s famous Bullet Train
- 9 nights hotel accommodation (4 nights Kyoto, 1 night Miyajima, 1 night Okayama and 3 nights Tokyo)

- Airport transfers from Kansai International Airport to Kyoto on arrival and from Tokyo to Narita International Airport on departure

Itinerary
Days 1 & 2: UK/ Japan
On arrival at Kansai International
Airport (Osaka) you will be met by our Meet & Greet service.
Transfer by private coach to Kyoto. Check in to your
hotel for 4 nights. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner on arrival.

Day 3: Kyoto
Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Kyoto by Private coach. Some of the wonderful
temples and distinctive Japanese gardens in today's tour include Kinkaku-ji
(the Golden Pavilion) and the fabulous Daitoku-ji temple complex. After lunch
at the Kyoto Handicraft Centre we go on to visit Kiyomizu-dera, a lovely hillside
temple offering breathtaking views over the city.

Day 4: Nara & Kyoto Botanical Gardens
Visit the nearby town of Nara and the spectacular Todai-ji
Temple. After lunch
we return to Kyoto and tour the wonderful Kyoto Botanical Gardens with
over 120,000 plants on show.

Day 5: Kyoto at leisure
Today is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Day 6: Miyajima
After checking out we board Japan's world-famous Bullet Train and head for
Hiroshima continuing by local train and ferry to the peaceful
island of Miyajima. This idyllic island is home to a red floating shrine gate, one
of Japan's most beautiful views. Tonight you will stay in a wonderful ryokan,
a traditional Japanese inn where you can bathe in hot spring baths and enjoy
a delicious Japanese dinner.

Day 7: Hiroshima-Okayama
After a full breakfast at your ryokan we head to Hiroshima. The sights
of this moving city include the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Museum.
This afternoon we board the Bullet Train and head to Okayama.
Check in to your hotel for 1 night.

Day 8: Okayama-Tokyo
This morning we will visit Korakuen, one of Japan's three
most celebrated gardens. Korakuen is at its most spectacular during the autumn
season. This afternoon we head to Tokyo on the Bullet Train. Check in to your
hotel for 3 nights. (B)
Day 9: Tokyo
Today we will take in some of the best sights Tokyo has to offer. We will visit
Meiji Shrine, one of the most beautiful shrines in Japan, and the nearby
lively district of Harajuku. This afternoon we will visit the fabulous East
Garden of the Imperial Palace. (B)
Day 10: Tokyo at leisure/Optional tour
Today is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may wish to do further sightseeing
or shopping in this lively city. Alternatively, you can join one of the following
superb optional tours:
Nikko: Join a coach tour to this nearby town famous for its extravagant temples, Kegon Waterfalls and Lake Chuzenji.
Mt Fuji: Visit one of Japan's most iconic sights, cruise on Lake Ashi, and ride a cable car over Owakudani ('big, boiling valley')
Enjoy a Farewell Dinner in the evening. (B,D)
Day 11: Depart Japan
Transfer to Narita Airport (Tokyo).
